Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. The Data Processing Unit (DPU) team brings together state-of-the-art software and hardware expertise to create a highly programmable and high-performance ASIC with the capability to efficiently handle large data streams. Thanks to its integrated design, this solution empowers teams to operate with increased agility and deliver significantly superior performance compared to CPU-based alternatives
Responsibilities:
As an Emulation Engineer II in the Data Processing Unit team you will be emulating silicon to solve complex problems in a datacenter. You will interact with the architecture, hardware, software QA and platform teams to co-develop a programmable silicon implementation. This position is expected to be highly visible and impactful. The vast breadth of domains required to build our DPU silicon gives the perfect opportunity to experience different areas of expertise. The depth required to solve complex engineering problems utilizes your experience and provides you with the perfect platform to shine and grow to the next stage in your career.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Application Specific integrated circuit (ASIC)/ System on Chip (SoC) emulation verification with System Verilog (SV)/Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) environments using any Standard Emulator (Palladium, Protium)
- 2+ years experience with Python or Perl scripting, including developing systems from scratch

- Experience with emulation flows using tools such as Palladium, Protium, Zebu, or Veloce
- Familiarity with SpeedBridges and Virtual Transactors
- Ability to write and debug RTL test cases for feature-specific scenarios
- Background with Jenkins CI systems, software development practices, and Git
- Exposure to FPGA platforms such as Xilinx UltraScale+ and Vivado toolchains
- Communication and teamwork skills, with interest in taking on a variety of challenges
