Responsibilities
Lead Manufacturing Engineer, Machining
We are seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer with deep expertise in machining to drive technical excellence and innovation. In this role, you will provide strategic guidance, develop advanced machining processes, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic technical direction and guidance on complex projects, influencing key decisions and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including design, quality, and production) to ensure the seamless integration of machining processes.
- Develop new and innovative machining processes, improve existing ones, and design the necessary tooling and fixtures.
- Solve complex technical issues related to machining processes, equipment, and product quality.
- Implement and maintain robust quality control measures throughout the machining process, from initial setup to final inspection.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for analysis, research, and historical records related to machining processes.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as engineering or technology.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in using Siemens NX software for design and programming of machining operations.
- Deep knowledge of various machining processes, equipment, tooling, and materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and manage complex projects to successful completion on time and with high-quality results.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures, inspection requirements, and relevant industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in a machining and manufacturing environment.
- Experience in defense contracting.
- Proficiency in programming complex 3, 4, and 5-axis mills, along with multi-axis vertical and horizontal lathes.
- Ability to program multiple head configurations.
- Experience leading the creation of Rough Order of Magnitudes (ROMs), Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and quoting.
- Excellent time management, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
