We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to serve as a technical leader at our 90,000 sqft Ohio-based manufacturing facility. This role is pivotal in driving operational efficiencies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and delivering on manufacturing automation goals. The Engineering Manager will lead people, projects, and initiatives across technical functions including Process Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, as well as lead our hardware refurbishment operations. This position is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within the dynamic and growing field of 3D printing resin manufacturing.
The Job:
Coach, lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians responsible for process development, automation, hardware refurbishment, and print farm operations.
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
Oversee troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage capital projects related to equipment upgrades, replacements, and new installations, from conception to commissioning.
Experience in batch based production operations.
Champion the identification, evaluation, and implementation of new automation technologies (e.g., PLC/DCS systems, robotics, advanced sensors, AI/ML-driven process control, etc.) to improve efficiency, quality, and safety within the resin manufacturing process.
Develop a strategic roadmap for automation deployment, aligning with overall business objectives and production needs.
Collaborate with production, R&D, and IT teams to integrate automation solutions seamlessly into existing operations.
Actively drive and exemplify a strong culture of operational excellence, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Own all things facilities, including supporting maintenance, changes, upgrades as needed within onsite manufacturing, warehousing, and office space.
Lead internal refurbishment operations, including process, equipment, space, inventory, and throughput management
Responsible for small print farm operation including both SLA & SLS technology
You:
Degree in engineering, operations, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in engineering roles within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management capacity.
Strong expertise in equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, and asset management best practices.
Demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of automation solutions (PLC/DCS programming, HMI development, industrial robotics, process control optimization).
Proficiency with CAD software and engineering simulation tools.
Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
Bonus Points:
Experience in chemical engineering and/or at-scale chemical production
Proven ability to align and implement business strategies effectively across multiple departments.
Familiarity with safety systems such as OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) or equivalent.
