About the role
This role will be the foundation of an Enterprise Architecture (EA) practice focused on aligning
technology across a complex enterprise environment. You ll be the founding Enterprise Architect
standardizing how tools and services work together, starting with customer-facing ( front-of-house )
applications, then expanding to back-end domains.
What you ll do
- Stand up a lightweight EA practice: a function that is streamlined, agile, and directly focused on
solving specific, high-priority business problems.
- Map current/target state and publish a capability model and reference architectures (integration,
data, identity, endpoints).
- Tame duplication and set standards / prescriptive patterns across different technology domains.
- Align siloed IT units and practices and facilitate solution reviews that balance autonomy with
enterprise coherence.
- Prioritize front-of-house apps for consistency and usability and sequence back-office modernization.
- Build the EA team: identify roles, convert federated experts into a community/guild.
- Ensure that the organization's enterprise architecture and cybersecurity strategy align with its
overall business vision and risk tolerance.
- Partner with Marketing/CRM teams to show fluency in business processes and elevate service
experience.
- Produce actionable roadmaps with KPIs and create a capabilities document and service catalog that
guides investment.
What you ll bring
- 15+ years in enterprise/solution architecture within large, federated orgs.
- Proven experience starting or maturing an EA practice and driving adoption across diverse
stakeholders.
- Hands-on with different technology domains - collaboration stacks, endpoint management
platforms, integration/API platforms, data flows, identity access management, infrastructure, etc.
- Strong communicator and facilitator; comfortable translating strategy into prescriptive guardrails
and patterns.
- Familiarity with capability mapping and pragmatic use of frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) without over-
engineering.
- Nice to have: exposure to advanced computing, CRM/marketing tech, and GRC (Governance, Risk
and Compliance) in Public Sector.
