Job Title: Epicor Consultant
Location: Hudson, NH local candidates only
Duration: 12 months will extend
Schedule: Onsite 5 days a week could flex after getting up to speed
Project Description:
Seeking a Senior Level Epicor Consultant who also has knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and hands-on experience with Epicor ERP (version 10 or newer). Following a recent acquisition by a publicly traded company, they are now required to achieve SOX compliance. This individual will work closely with a third-party consulting firm to lead internal control initiatives across both business and IT functions. Key priorities include risk assessment, control design, and the optimization of Epicor to align with SOX standards. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can assess risk, resolve issues, and drive process improvements with limited oversight.
Client is a leading provider of mission-critical connectivity solutions for the defense and aerospace industries. The company specializes in the design, manufacture, and installation of fiber optic and copper cable assemblies, harnesses, and integrated electronic systems. Known for its precision engineering and commitment to quality, supporting a range of military and industrial applications that demand rugged, high-performance connectivity. Their solutions are used in shipboard, airborne, and ground-based platforms, helping to ensure operational readiness and long-term reliability.
Requirements:
- Proven subject matter expertise in Epicor 10 or newer
- SOX experience, with a focus on IT General Controls (ITGC) and ERP controls
- Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Experience:
- Prior work in a manufacturing, distribution, or ERP-heavy industry
- Experience working directly with Big 4 audit firms
- Familiarity with automated control tools or Epicor customization environments
Key Responsibilities: Epicor-Based Controls Management
- Implement role-based access controls and segregation of duties within Epicor
- Conduct user access reviews and enforce privileged access management practices
- Configure and monitor workflow automation, approvals, and audit trails within the system
- Use Epicor BI and reporting tools to support SOX testing, monitoring, and analytics
- Evaluate integration opportunities with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms for centralized control management
IT General Controls
- Oversee access management practices including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), access provisioning, and de-provisioning
- Maintain formal change management procedures for Epicor system updates
- Ensure regular Epicor data backups and test disaster recovery protocols
- Monitor routine system operations, maintenance, and incident handling
SOX Risk and Control Ownership
- Identify critical processes in Epicor related to financial reporting
- Define clear and specific SOX controls using frameworks
- Document process narratives, flowcharts, risk/control matrices, and control evidence
- Ensure coverage of both preventive and detective controls
