Estimating Manager - Mechanical Construction

Position Overview
The Estimating Manager for Mechanical Construction will oversee the estimating processes for mechanical projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in bid preparation. This role involves leading a team of estimators, coordinating with project managers and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive bid packages, and aligning estimating practices with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the estimating team to ensure accurate and timely preparation of bid proposals.
  • Coordinate with project managers and technical teams to gather necessary project information and specifications.
  • Develop and review bid packages, ensuring all components such as labor, materials, and timelines are accurately included.
  • Utilize estimating software, including AutoBid Integration and SysQue, to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
  • Conduct market analysis to stay informed about material cost trends and labor factors affecting bids.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for the estimating team, including training and mentoring newer estimators.
  • Ensure that all estimating efforts align with corporate objectives and strategic management goals.
  • Oversee data validation processes to ensure the integrity of cost estimates and bids.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing and scope information.
  • Participate in on-site evaluations and assessments as necessary to inform estimating processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 Years of Experience
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and staff selection.
  • Demonstrated expertise in estimating mechanical systems, including plumbing, ductwork, and insulation.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools such as AutoBid and SysQue.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Market awareness regarding material pricing and labor factors in the mechanical construction industry.
