Job Details

JOB Title: Expert Project Manager

DURATION: 30 Months

LOCATION: Albany, NY Hybrid

Interview: In Person Interview

Note : Consultant must be willing to work ON SITE from Day 1.
The PM will lead the day-to-day execution of the legacy remediation program and various high-priority projects ensuring alignment between technical analysis, business process improvements, and executive priorities. This role will facilitate planning, manage interdependencies, track progress, escalate risks, and ensure transparency across internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Project Manager- Plans, organizes and integrates cross-functional information technology projects that are significant in scope and impact.
Expert- 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
84 months of experience managing multi-divisional technology or business modernization projects across multiple teams.
84 months of experience developing and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules, and risk logs.
84 months of experience communicating with cross-functional teams, executive leadership, and partner agencies.
48 months coordinating application modernization, remediation, or system replacement initiatives.
48 months managing projects involving both technical and business process components.
36 months of experience managing Agile or hybrid teams.
36 months of experience using project tracking tools such as Microsoft Planner, Jira, MS Project, or similar.
36 months Experience producing executive-level updates and supporting fast-turnaround requests.
PMP, PMI-ACP, or other comparable project management certification.
Day-to-Day tasks Lead planning and coordination across Systems Analysts, Business Analysts, IT teams, and business stakeholders.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
Facilitate working groups, sprint planning, and review sessions as needed.
Track issues, risks, and decisions and manage escalation processes.
Monitor interdependencies across divisions, regions, offices, and technical workstreams.
Ensure consistent communication across internal teams and external agency partners.
Prepare status reports, executive updates, and progress briefings.
Support alignment between project activities and DEC s strategic and operational goals.
Manage task assignments, facilitate coordination, and maintain accountability.
Use project tracking tools such as Planner, Excel, Teams, or equivalent.
Adapt to ad-hoc priorities and provide organizational leadership support as needed.
