This is a temporary position.
Position Summary
The Director of Salesforce Engineering is a strategic and technical leader responsible for the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions within one of the largest Salesforce ecosystems. This role drives innovation across Salesforce platforms-including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Commerce-while ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
- Serve as technical architect and hands-on developer when needed, leveraging APEX, LWC, REST APIs, GraphQL, and Salesforce AI capabilities.
- Make architectural decisions that balance scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Stay current with Salesforce advancements and guide adoption of emerging features.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Salesforce engineers and architects.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Solution Delivery
- Translate business requirements into innovative technical solutions in partnership with product managers and analysts.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including design reviews, code quality, testing, and deployment.
Integration & Governance
- Design and govern integrations between Salesforce and internal/external systems using secure protocols and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and data governance standards, especially around PII handling.
Operational Excellence
- Identify and implement opportunities to optimize systems and processes.
- Drive engineering rigor through reusable code assets, engagement playbooks, and technical enablement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 8-10 years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years in Salesforce engineering.
- Proven experience in Salesforce architecture, Lightning Web Components, and API integrations.
- Active Salesforce Platform Developer I & II certifications.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security, CTI, Omni-Channel, and data management.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and enterprise-scale deployments.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience with AI technologies or hands-on involvement with Agentforce solutions is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and foster technical growth.
The pay range for this position is $56.53 to $94.09 per hour.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
