We are seeking experienced Fiber Optics Inspectors to join our team for residential fiber installation projects across multiple Florida locations. This role focuses on quality control and compliance inspections for buried and underground fiber optics infrastructure in residential subdivisions. Key Responsibilities - Inspect Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) construction projects for compliance with design plans and industry standards.
- Conduct quality checks on completed and ongoing construction work.
- Verify proper installation of fiber-optic cables, splice cases, cabinets, splitters, and underground infrastructure.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards and traffic control regulations.
- Meet with city/county/DOT inspectors, utility locators, and homeowners to resolve issues.
- Document discrepancies between field conditions and design prints.
- Perform pre-construction ride-outs and emergency locates.
- Maintain accurate records and submit inspection forms promptly.
- Operate test equipment to verify optical levels and system performance.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, supervisors, and project managers.
Required Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of experience in OSP construction, maintenance, and repair (Telephone, CATV, High-Speed Internet).
- Proven background in buried and underground fiber optics inspection (residential subdivisions).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass an 11-panel drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strong knowledge of FOA, NEC, NESC, and telecommunications construction practices.
- Ability to read blueprints, system maps, and splicing matrix sheets.
- Proficient in photographic and video documentation.
- Familiarity with test equipment (signal level meters, ohm meters, etc.).
- Ability to work standing for extended periods (50 70% of the time).
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
Preferred Skills - Experience with aerial installations, bonding/grounding, and MDU lockbox replacements.
- Knowledge of NCTA and FCC regulations.
- Ability to handle homeowner interactions professionally.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
