Position: Financial Analyst
Reports To: Sr. Director Financial Planning & Analysis
Salary 65-75K
Position Overview:
This role supports the Sr. Director of FP&A in cash forecasting and variance analysis. Complete P&L and job variance analysis as needed, supporting the Sr. Financial Analyst.
Job Duties:
- Support the creation board of director s materials including 3-statement modeling
- Develops weekly cash forecast with input from Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Operational Finance and Operations along with financial forecasts
- Track daily cash balances and make spending decisions
- Use contract terms to model days sales outstanding, retainage collection, and billings in excess/costs in excess
- Provide reports on actual cash results
- Perform analysis on job results as required to support the FP&A team
- Create PowerPoint presentations on drivers behind cash results, influencing leadership throughout the business to drive better cash management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required including the use of pivot tables, building financial models; experience with ERP or Reporting Systems a plus
- Experience in improving processes and utilizing technology to improve efficiency
- Analytical abilities to assess reasonableness of information collected/provided; manage large datasets; identify trends, provide comments and recommendations
- Must have the ability to perform extensive root cause analysis of problem areas and recommend alternative solutions
- Participate in process for developing financial plans (annual budgets, quarterly re-forecasts and long-range strategic plans); linking analysis to the strategic objectives
- Clearly express results to management through schedules, tables, charts and commentary
- Ability to explain financial results/details to non-financial managers, as well as interact with many departments and managerial levels within the organization
- Accounting knowledge of balance sheets, income statements, financial statements, and consolidations
- Ability to manage under tight deadlines and handle multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Self-directed individual who works well with teams
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting/Finance, or Business-related field.
- Between 1 and 3 years in financial analysis or related role
- Knowledge of Project Accounting and/or construction a plus
- Proven track record of creating and implementing custom reporting solutions
- Action-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires prioritizing, performing with a high degree of accuracy and meeting tight deadlines
- Power user in Excel required
- Exceptional customer focus
