Job Details
Job Description:
*Note: This is 1 year contract (with possible extension)
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the Microbiological Verification, Environmental Monitoring, Mycotoxin, Allergens, and other Food Safety related programs.
- Assist with root cause analysis investigations of food safety incidents and aid in the effective implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Help implement external food safety requirements such as regulations or customer needs into procedures or best practices for site.
- Resampling products in support of the Sensory program, to include sensory panel training, pulling samples, and checking KQAs against product specs.
- Scanning documents and inbound paperwork to assist with inbound verification activities.
- Technical input to Value Stream related activities (new equipment installation, etc.).
- Reduce incidents related to change management through building capability with operations and reliability on risk assessments.
- Implement Global company’s Standards into the Value Stream & drive to full compliance.
- General department support as needed - to include document review, document creation, and administrative tasks.
Experience:
- Formal education and/or 2-5 years of experience in a Quality, Food Safety, Product Development, or Quality Process Lab role.
- Fresh graduate or food safety experience (HACCP, CCP/OPRP, Environmental monitoring, microbiology).
- A candidate that has worked in manufacturing or a new graduate – transitioning career fields is not ideal for this position – experience and/or knowledge should be in place to begin the role.
Skills:
- Someone who enjoys problem solving and root cause analysis.
- A candidate that is motivated – our team is slim currently, and we need additional help on-board to fill in resource gaps.
- Must Have: Food Safety/Production, or fresh graduate.
- Software: Excel, Teams. Good to Have: HACCP, EMP, Micro experience
- Your training will be on-the-job. Please do not expect to receive a corporate on-boarding experience. Team expectations are aligned with train-as-you-go experience, and performance assessment will be aligned with the lack of formal on-boarding.
Education:
- Required: B.S. Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Packaging, Product Development, Public Health
- Preferred: B.S. in Food Safety or MPH or MSc Food Safety/Chemistry
Certifications (Plus to have):
PCQI, FDQI, ISO 22000 Lead Auditor
