Job Description
Chewy is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer to join our team in Boston, MA. This role will focus on developing scalable and resilient ReactJS-based applications and integrating with backend systems, contributing to Chewy s mission of being the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents and partners everywhere.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain UI components using ReactJS and modern frontend technologies.
  • Collaborate on service architecture, data architecture, and deployment pipelines.
  • Participate in architecture and code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
  • Contribute to API development and integration (ReactJS + Java/Spring Boot).
  • Engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (grooming, planning, demos, retrospectives).
  • Support production systems through on-call rotations and troubleshooting.
  • Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Debug complex production issues across services and technology stack.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to enterprise coding standards.
 
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science (or related field) OR equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of frontend development experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in ReactJS framework.
  • 1+ years of development experience in Java / Spring Boot.
  • Strong foundation in OOP, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
  • Proven experience in the full software development lifecycle (design, coding, reviews, testing, deployment, operations).
  • Knowledge of design patterns and best practices.
  • Experience in building and deploying features in production.
  • Ability to quickly gain domain knowledge in e-commerce.
