Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Generative AI Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep expertise in Java, Python, and AI/ML frameworks. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying Generative AI solutions to enhance business processes, optimize decision-making, and drive innovation within Wells Fargo s AI/ML ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the SME for Generative AI initiatives, providing architectural and technical guidance.

Design and implement AI-driven solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, and Generative AI frameworks.

Develop scalable applications using Java (Spring Boot, Microservices) and Python (AI/ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI APIs).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Cloud Architects to integrate AI solutions into enterprise platforms.

Build and optimize AI pipelines, APIs, and microservices for model training, deployment, and monitoring.

Evaluate, fine-tune, and implement pre-trained AI/LLM models for enterprise use cases.

Ensure model governance, compliance, and responsible AI practices in line with Wells Fargo standards.

Drive POCs and pilots for new AI/ML capabilities and recommend scalable adoption strategies.

Provide mentorship and technical leadership to developers and data engineers on AI solution development.

Required Skills & Experience:

10+ years of software development experience with Java and Python.

3 5 years of AI/ML/NLP experience, with recent focus on Generative AI/LLMs.

Hands-on experience with Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), Vector Databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, Milvus).

Strong knowledge of API development, microservices architecture, and cloud (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).

Expertise in data engineering concepts, model integration, and ML pipeline orchestration.

Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or other enterprise-grade LLMs.

Proven track record of delivering AI/ML solutions in enterprise financial services or regulated environments.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, Azure ML).

Knowledge of AI ethics, governance, bias detection, and model interpretability.

Familiarity with Kafka, Spark, Databricks, or other big data platforms.

Financial domain experience, especially in banking, risk management, or fraud detection use cases.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor s/Master s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or related field.

AI/ML or Cloud certifications are a plus.
