Job Details

Title: Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer

Location: San Jose, CA

Job Description:

The client is migrating its Identity and Customer Data Store Services from on-prem infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This is a major rewrite involving distributed systems that manage critical customer identity operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data migration
  • Develop real-time streaming solutions using Kafka or Pub/Sub
  • Work with Google Cloud Platform services: Cloud Dataflow, Big Query, Big Table, Cloud Storage
  • Ensure data validation, quality assurance, and performance benchmarking
  • Collaborate with client Identity Engineering team in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies
  • Support monitoring, alerting, and documentation efforts

Must-Have Skills:

  • Large-scale data migration experience
  • Google Cloud Platform: Cloud Dataflow, BigQuery, BigTable, Cloud Storage
  • Kafka or Google Pub/Sub
  • ETL/ELT pipeline development
  • Data validation and QA

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in fintech or identity management domains
  • Familiarity with client tech stack
  • CI/CD and DevOps exposure
