Overview

LMI is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Robotics Capabilities Integrator to support a United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) customer in planning, synchronizing, and integrating advanced robotics and autonomous systems capabilities. The candidate will serve as a key technical and operational advisor, bridging requirements, resourcing, and emerging technologies to enable Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) deliver capabilities to the command.

This position requires operational and domain knowledge, tactical and technical expertise, and capabilities development/acquisition integration experience. This position will play a critical role in evaluating and validating current and future robotics capabilities and aligning them with ARSOF priorities, requirements, and integrating them into the DOTMLPF-P domains.

Responsibilities

- Provide subject matter expertise across cross-functional teams of comprised of government stakeholders and various contracted support personnel.
- Support capability development process of unmanned systems, robotics, and autonomous systems across the command.

- Enable requirements validation, integration of capabilities, and JCIDS documentation generation across USASOC programs.

- Conduct analysis of robotics and autonomous system platforms, payloads, and other systems for operational use cases, lifecycle management, and affordability.

- Work closely with government leads to idenitfy critical capability gaps, provide risk assessments, and provide subject matter expertise for the command's resource allocation process related to robotics and autonomous systems.

- Assist in budget planning, POM development, and program integration to ensure robotics capabilities are properly resourced and aligned with command and Department of War priorities.

- Assist in briefings, white paper writing, and decision support products for senior leaders within the command.

- Ability to train end-users on system operations, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures.

- Ensure safety standards are maintained and compliance across procurement, cybersecurity, and testing processes.

- Provide integration support for sensors, payloads, and communications platforms in accordance with government provided requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with robotics or autonomous systems.

- Strong tactical and operational domain context and knowledge.

- Expertise in mechanical, electrical, or software systems common across robotics and autonomous systems platforms.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in high-tempo environment while working closely with senior government leaders.

- Strong communication and briefing skills.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and potentially work in austere field envrionments in support of government training or validation exercises.

- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance (Secret Required).

Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Department of War (DoW) or other government robotics programs.

- Familiarity with tactical communications platforms, software, and integration of capabilities currently fielded across the command.
- Prior military service, preferably in Army Special Operations with experience in deployed and field environments.

- Strong knowledge of POM, PPB&E, capabilities development course qualification.

This position may require travel to government test sites, training ranges, and operational locations, including potential OCONUS destinations for short periods of time in support of government senior leaders. This work may also include work in labs, office, and field environments with varying working conditions.
