Salary : $90,000 - $115,000/yr (plus profit-sharing bonus)

Summary:
Our client, a global leader in climate control and data center cooling technology, is seeking a mid-level HVAC Design Engineer to contribute to the design and optimization of advanced Data Center Cooling Products. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical design experience (equipment & machinery), HVAC design experience, strong technical competency, and the ability to work independently on system- and component-level engineering tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design HVAC systems with a focus on performance, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
• Select and size major components, including fans, heat exchangers, and compressors.
• Perform detailed refrigeration cycle modeling and system-level performance analysis.
• Interpret and develop mechanical and electrical diagrams and ensure proper integration with control systems.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure HVAC systems interface seamlessly with electrical, structural, and controls engineering teams.
• Take ownership of medium-sized design projects or subsystems, managing timelines and deliverables.
• Participate and occasionally lead product testing, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor industry advancements and propose design enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in mechanical product design (equipment & machinery), HVAC system design, refrigeration, or thermal engineering.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, HVAC components, and system optimization approaches.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and control diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with CAD tools.
• Experience with large commercial HVAC, data center cooling, chiller design, or industrial refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with product testing and experimental methods.
• Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience working in cross-functional engineering environments.
