Position Summary:
The Facilities & HVAC Data Center Technician will support daily operations in an active data center, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and critical systems. The role also includes inspections, vendor coordination, and adherence to safety standards to ensure a reliable, secure environment.
Additional Details:
Contract Length: 3 months with the possibility of extension
Pay range: $20 to $23/hour on W2 as per experience
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections, shift rounds, and monthly preventative maintenance
- Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and complete emergency/reactive repairs
- Support HVAC and critical systems (UPS, PDUs, utilities)
- Read and interpret schematics and one-line diagrams
- Escort vendors, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and follow lock out/tag out procedures
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience in data centers, HVAC, or other critical environments (military experience a plus)
- Strong HVAC background preferred; electrical experience beneficial
- EPA certification preferred; electrician license a plus
- High school diploma or trade school equivalent
- Detail-oriented, customer service focused, with strong communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills; BMS experience preferred
- EPA certification preferred
