Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Design & FPGA Engineer to join our client's advanced engineering team in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in FPGA development, hardware board design, and hands-on experience working with complex digital systems. This role is ideal for professionals who excel in fast-paced, high-tech environments and enjoy contributing to cutting-edge product development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and validate FPGA-based solutions using VHDL/Verilog.
  • Develop hardware schematics, board-level architectures, and system-level designs.
  • Perform RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including ASIC, firmware, and validation engineers.
  • Conduct board bring-up, debugging, and integration testing.
  • Work with high-speed interfaces, communication protocols, and embedded systems.
  • Document design requirements, technical specifications, and test plans.
  • Support prototype builds, lab measurements, and hardware validation activities.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Hardware Design and FPGA development.
  • Strong knowledge of Verilog/VHDL, RTL design, and FPGA tools (Xilinx, Client/Altera, Lattice).
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB design tools, and board bring-up.
  • Hands-on lab experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, SERDES, etc.).
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SoC FPGA platforms.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and system-level design.
  • Experience in embedded C/C++ or firmware development (plus).
