Job Details
Eclaro's customer in Washington DC is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Hardware Technician to join their team. This position will provide onsite support for hardware-related needs, handling escalations from our outsourced Help Desk. The Hardware Technician will be responsible for computer setup, deployment, troubleshooting, and hardware lifecycle management while ensuring excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Configure and deploy computers using pre-built PDS images.
- Migrate user data and settings from one computer to another.
- Install custom software packages as required for individual users.
- Deliver or ship computers to customers and assist with post-delivery setup.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware failures, coordinating with vendors for warranty repairs when necessary.
- Perform basic telephone troubleshooting (e.g., device not powering on).
- Deliver and install toner in HP printers.
- Route escalated tickets to the appropriate support group as needed.
- Install and configure hardware at user locations, including monitors, desktops/laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Maintain accurate records in the inventory and tracking system, including signing equipment in and out.
Required Competencies:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Hardware and network troubleshooting knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications:
- CompTIA A+ Certification.
- CompTIA Network+ Certification.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in hardware support or desktop services.
