Hardware Technician

Eclaro's customer in Washington DC is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Hardware Technician to join their team. This position will provide onsite support for hardware-related needs, handling escalations from our outsourced Help Desk. The Hardware Technician will be responsible for computer setup, deployment, troubleshooting, and hardware lifecycle management while ensuring excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and deploy computers using pre-built PDS images.
• Migrate user data and settings from one computer to another.
• Install custom software packages as required for individual users.
• Deliver or ship computers to customers and assist with post-delivery setup.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware failures, coordinating with vendors for warranty repairs when necessary.
• Perform basic telephone troubleshooting (e.g., device not powering on).
• Deliver and install toner in HP printers.
• Route escalated tickets to the appropriate support group as needed.
• Install and configure hardware at user locations, including monitors, desktops/laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Maintain accurate records in the inventory and tracking system, including signing equipment in and out.

Required Competencies:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Hardware and network troubleshooting knowledge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications:

• CompTIA A+ Certification.
• CompTIA Network+ Certification.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in hardware support or desktop services.
