Information System Security Manager (ISSM)

Overview:

3 Reasons Consulting is seeking candidates with 2+ years of cybersecurity experience to join our team as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM). This role supports a Navy customer to ensure the secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of developed and deployed systems. The ISSM is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and oversight of cybersecurity policies and procedures for information systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as ISSM for multiple information systems

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities

  • Develop and maintain RMF documentation (Security Plans, POA&Ms, Risk Assessments, etc.)

  • Monitor system security posture and assist with vulnerability management

  • Conduct security audits, assessments, and continuous monitoring activities

  • Ensure compliance with NIST, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity requirements

  • Utilize Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for RMF activities and system documentation

  • Coordinate with ISSOs, system administrators, and other stakeholders to maintain system authorization

  • Evaluate and apply emerging cybersecurity/RMF policies

  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving security and risk standards to ensure compliance

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Experience with:

    • Vulnerability testing tools (e.g., Nessus, WebInspect, Fortify, ACAS, STIG Viewer)

    • Operating systems security (aligned with NIST, DISA STIGs, USCYBERCOM)

    • Implementing RMF processes and NIST 800-53 controls

    • eMASS (experience with eMASSter and STIG evaluation is a plus but not required)

Required Certification(s):

DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program and/or DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program (CWQP) IAM Level I certification (one or more of the following):

  • CAP

  • CND

  • Cloud+

  • GSLC

  • Security+ CE

  • HCISPP

Clearance Level:
Active Secret Security Clearance
