IT Infrastructure Field Services Project Manager

IMMEDIATE NEW JOB OPENING for an IT Field Services Project Manager to join our team and work on-site for our national client based out of Irving, Texas. The IT Infrastructure Project Manager will implement technology solutions to support both internal and external users. With staff in Texas and Michigan, the IT Field Services Team is responsible for the design, setup, and support of the IT infrastructure supporting 700+ locations across the country. The successful candidate will have experience in implementing IT infrastructure and project management.

The position will work with management, IT Field Services, the IT Help desk, and IT project managers when creating and maintaining these IT infrastructure systems. The role reports to the IT Operations Senior Manager. This role will work in an office environment. Requires occasional after-hours and weekend work. Some travel to remote locations (Approximately 4-8 times a year, or as required).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other Engineering and Operations staff to engineer, implement, and support IT infrastructure projects.
  • Manage network and server implementations at multiple corporate locations spread across the continental US.
  • Coordinate all project information, schedules, assignment task, and status updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal technical resources for tracking work and implementation schedules.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party installation teams with assigning and tracking all work.
  • Assist senior Engineers and other IT managers to develop, update, and document IT infrastructure and operational policies and standards. Develop and maintain system runbooks, documentation of configuration specifications, and procedural guides for applicable systems.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor s Degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in various IT engineering and operations disciplines including LAN administration, server administration, backup systems, monitoring and alerting systems, and desktop support.
  • Established experience and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
  • Confidence interacting with a wide range of people from clerical staff, operations, developers, senior management, and vendors.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Must possess ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to organize multiple work tasks and prioritize them to meet specific deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Competence in operating a personal computer and external computer peripherals.
  • Proficiency to read, write and communicate orally the English language, especially I.T. technical terms and concepts.
  • Physical qualifications required to perform the job function: ability to lift 25 lbs., climb stairs, sit for long periods of time.
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management governance, techniques, and methods.
  • Ability to travel to locations around the United States on occasion for acquisition projects.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Excellent understanding of networking and computing concepts with experience in local and wide area network design, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical writing and verbal communication skills to develop and maintain documentation, and to communicate effectively with fellow team members, management, and non-engineering support staff in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Experience with utilizing support ticketing systems for ticket management and change requests.
