Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our organization's cybersecurity infrastructure while adhering to industry regulations and best practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the development and enforcement of security standards.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement advanced security systems, including firewalls, access controls, encryption protocols, and intrusion detection solutions.
Maintain and update cybersecurity tools and systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Lead efforts to address security incidents, resolve vulnerabilities, and execute system-hardening initiatives.
Develop and enforce comprehensive IT cybersecurity standards and practices to protect organizational data.
Foster collaboration between IT teams, risk management, and third-party security partners for enhanced security measures.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Participate in training programs and demonstrate proficiency in areas such as the Bank Secrecy Act and other compliance standards.
Contribute to organizational projects, strategic initiatives, and special assignments as needed.
Support the organization's mission, vision, and core values by demonstrating professionalism and teamwork.
Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, including punctuality, to meet organizational standards.
Requirements
Associate's degree in Cybersecurity is required; a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Security is preferred.
At least 10 years of experience in IT cybersecurity is required.
Minimum of 8 years' experience as an IT Cybersecurity Engineer is required.
At least 4 years of experience working in financial services, such as banking, credit unions, fintech, or annuities, is required.
Strong knowledge of regulatory and industry standards is required.
Certified Information Systems Security Specialist (CISSP) certification is preferred.
ITILv3 Foundation or higher certification is preferred.
System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) and CompTIA Security+ certifications are preferred.
