Description
We are looking for an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Schaumburg, Illinois. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in safeguarding the organization's systems by managing cybersecurity measures and ensuring compliance with security protocols. If you have a strong background in vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security monitoring, along with excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
Oversee cybersecurity systems, including vulnerability management, password security, and monitoring to ensure protection against threats.
Conduct regular security incident investigations and report metrics to leadership.
Develop and implement automation scripts to enhance security monitoring and response.
Coordinate and lead penetration testing initiatives, validating results and ensuring remediation.
Plan and execute comprehensive cybersecurity training programs for staff.
Manage incident response processes, ensuring alignment with established security frameworks.
Administer security systems and tools, including SIEM and firewall technologies.
Provide Help Desk support for end users, addressing technical issues and security concerns.
Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to proactively mitigate risks.
Requirements
Proficiency in vulnerability management tools such as Tenable.io and Sumo Logic.
Strong understanding of penetration testing methodologies and the ability to interpret results.
Experience with system administration and configuration management.
Solid knowledge of firewall technologies, including Cisco ASA and Checkpoint.
Familiarity with SIEM tools and cloud security platforms like AWS.
Exceptional communication skills to provide effective end-user support.
Demonstrated ability to handle incident response and adhere to cybersecurity frameworks.
Expertise in auditing, security analysis, and proactive threat mitigation.
