The IT Software Commodity Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for enterprise and embedded software solutions used across healthcare IT systems. This role oversees supplier selection, licensing agreements, and reseller partnerships while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving cost optimization. The Commodity Manager works cross-functionally with IT, clinical, and business stakeholders to align technology purchases with organizational goals and support both direct use and resale initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for embedded software, enterprise applications and reseller agreements.
Lead negotiations for licensing, renewals, and bundled reseller contracts to maximize value.
Manage vendor and reseller relationships, including contract compliance, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
Partner with IT, clinical, and compliance teams to ensure software solutions meet functional, security, and regulatory requirements.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and innovative supplier partnerships.
Stay current with software market trends, licensing models, and healthcare IT regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, or related field.
5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, with demonstrated expertise in purchasing embedded software and managing software resale contracts.
Strong knowledge of enterprise licensing structures and reseller channels.
Proven negotiation and contract management skills with complex vendor ecosystems.
Familiarity with HIPAA, IT security, and healthcare compliance requirements.
