Who We Are:

The Network, Telecommunications and AV team supports all aspects of SwRI's Enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure. This includes core routing, switching, VoIP, wireless infrastructure, inside/outside plant, network performance monitoring and hybrid meeting services.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Design and procure AV and Conferencing technologies to support Institute meeting rooms including auditoriums, conference rooms, training rooms and huddle spaces.
  • Manage AV installation projects that require coordinating network, AV, telecommunication, facilities, and IT support components.
  • Install and repair copper/fiber infrastructure and physical components of audio visual equipment.
  • Support Institute staff with videoconferencing and multimedia presentation meeting needs.
  • Schedule events; make technical and logistical arrangements for videoconferencing; coordinate and assist with meeting room arrangements.
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Institute AV equipment.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot existing AV technologies and hardware. Repair as needed.
  • Collaborate with teams from other IT disciplines to ensure delivery of AV/telecom services to support enterprise requirements.
  • Recommend, purchase, configure and install equipment for new requirements and as required to maintain currency of technical capabilities.
  • Create and maintain documentation and inventory of systems and equipment.
  • Setup, coordinate and facilitate events and meetings with AV requirements.
  • Occassional weekend or after hours work.

Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Extron AV Associate and/or Extron Control Professional certifications are a plus.
  • 3 years: Installation, operation and maintenance of audio-visual and multimedia technologies
  • 3 years: Termination of copper network/AV cabling.
  • 2 years: Designing new and recommending upgrades of existing meeting technology solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft Office scheduling, presentation, meeting and diagraming software highly recommended (Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio) Basic PC troubleshooting skills or experience in desktop support a plus.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required
