Job Summary
Summary
Mass General Brigham is looking for a talented Information Security Engineer II with a focus on automation and security engineering. In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain scalable automation tools that support incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance workflows.
We're seeking someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to make a direct impact on the security posture of one of the most respected healthcare systems in the world.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
-Build and maintain automation scripts and workflows to enhance security operations.
-Design integrations between security tools using APIs and orchestration platforms (e.g., SOAR, SIEM, CI/CD pipelines).
-Develop and maintain automated playbooks for incident response.
-Identify manual, repetitive tasks across security operations and propose automated solutions.
-Collaborate closely with security analysts, engineers, and DevOps to understand pain points and implement smart automation.
-Participate in architectural discussions to ensure security automation aligns with best practices.
-Document automation processes, scripts, and tool integrations.
-Mentor junior team members in secure coding and automation frameworks.
-Embody and promote Mass General Brigham's core values in your work.

Qualifications

Education
Associate's Degree Related Field of Study required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Experience
-Relevant experience 3-5 years required

-Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or equivalent work experience.

-3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with direct experience in scripting and automation.

-Strong experience with scripting and programming languages, including:

Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, or Go.

-Familiarity with key security platforms and tools (e.g., Splunk, CrowdStrike, etc).

-Hands-on experience working with:

APIs, webhooks, and integration frameworks.

-Security automation frameworks and platforms (e.g., SOAR, SIEM, EDR tools).

-Security certifications are a plus (e.g., GSEC, Security+, CISSP, GIAC, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts within their domain.
- High proficiency with the tools and solutions supported by the team.
- Solid understanding of system architecture and design.
- Strong problem solving skills and analytical thinking to identify solutions to complex problems, and to optimize existing solutions.
- Excellent prioritization capabilities, with an aptitude for breaking down work into manageable parts, effectively assessing the priority and time required to complete each part.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to share knowledge, present ideas, and lead discussions.
