Job Details

Our client, an organization in the banking industry, is looking for an Information Security Specialist to join their team on a 6-month contract to hire basis. I deal candidates will have experience maintaining the networks, computer hardware, peripherals and software solutions to ensure the efficient and secure processing of member transactions. This role is 100% onsite in Livermore, CA and the hourly pay rate is between $30.00 - $42.00.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze threat and vulnerability feeds, assess relevance to the organization, and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Configure and monitor security tools including AV endpoints, IDS/IPS, firewalls, SIEM, DLP, NAC, spam/web filters, and patch & vulnerability management platforms.
  • Execute security policies and audit plans; identify security risks and operational needs. Ensure adherence to configuration standards and produce concise reports that summarize findings and remediation steps.
  • Recommend improvements to the Information Security Program to the Information Security Manager.
  • Support the Information Security Manager in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Information Security Framework and Program in compliance with internal policies and external regulations; complete additional assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across departments and branches to deliver efficient service; maintain professionalism and foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the client s products and services, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED; external candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively with strong attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience managing security devices and related tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of core security concepts (e.g., cyberattacks/techniques, threat vectors, risk management, incident management).
  • Proficiency with operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX) and familiarity with security methodologies, processes, and technical solutions (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS).


Preferred:

  • Associate s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; industry certifications are a plus.
  • Strong IT networking background; knowledge of information security and familiarity with cyber-heist/social-engineering threats are highly desired.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
  • Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
