Job Title: Information Systems Architect - Advanced
Location: REMOTE
General Nature of Work
The Information Systems Architect - Advanced is responsible for planning, designing, developing, and implementing architecture for systems, applications, and security within the agency's Health-IT infrastructure. This includes systems such as Nextgen Healthcare's EHR, PM, EDR, NGShare, NG Mobile, MIRTH, eZmar, and Symmetry.

The Information Systems Architect - Advanced is responsible for planning, designing, developing, and implementing architecture for systems, applications, and security within the agency's Health-IT infrastructure. This includes systems such as Nextgen Healthcare's EHR, PM, EDR, NGShare, NG Mobile, MIRTH, eZmar, and Symmetry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and architecture design for Health IT systems.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology strategies with agency goals.
- Maintain technology roadmaps and security architecture documentation.
- Ensure compliance with state-level IT standards and security protocols.
- Evaluate and recommend technology products and vendors.
- Develop and enforce policies and processes for technology governance.
- Support EHR implementation including build, testing, training, and go-live.
- Integrate EHR with external systems (e.g., offender management, lab, PACs, pharmacy).
- Develop reports from the Nextgen database.
- Facilitate participation in health information exchanges.
- Recommend equipment and provide regular status updates to management.
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience with Electronic Health Records.
- 5+ years of experience with Nextgen EHR, PM, and EDR.
- Nextgen Certification.
- Expertise in Nextgen Template Editor and custom template creation.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, ICD-9/ICD-10, and healthcare data standards.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Experience with HL7, SQL, Crystal Reports.
- Familiarity with eMAR, Mirth, PACs, CIPS/Fusion, Merge.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Deep understanding of Health-IT architecture and enterprise systems.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, vendors, and healthcare providers.
- Up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and market trends.
