Job Title: Innovation Director for Private Equity
Location: New York City, NY
Location: 3 Bryant Park, NYC.
3 Days a week in the Office is Mandatory (No Exceptions); the resource should be in the Client Office from Day 1.
Looking for a seasoned Innovation Director to fortify their Business Operations team. This team comprises of MBAs, veteran Investment Managers, and Alternative Investment Strategists tasked with sourcing over $250 million in investment opportunities. As an integral part of this elite group, you will harness Generative LLMs (e.g., OpenAI) and Agentic workflow techniques to automate processes, enhance product offerings, and drive value creation.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Operations Optimization & Workflow Automation:
- Partner with Investment Managers and Strategists to pinpoint bottlenecks and inefficiencies in their operational pipelines, from sourcing deals to portfolio management.
- Engineer and fine-tune automated workflows utilizing Agentic methodologies and Generative LLMs to accelerate lead generation, due diligence, and capital deployment processes.
- Craft bespoke prompts for LLM technologies to distill critical information and enhance decision-making across various stages of the investment lifecycle.
2. AI-Powered Product Innovation:
- Collaborate with our product development arm to integrate LLMs for pioneering features or augmenting existing functionalities, ensuring alignment with the discerning needs of our limited partners and fund managers.
- Lead the strategic initiative of embedding AI into our research, deal origination, and execution protocols, positioning us at the forefront of technological advancement in PE/AIM.
3. Data Analytics for Strategic Advantage:
- Interpret vast datasets to reveal actionable trends, risk profiles, and growth vectors that inform our investment thesis and operational efficiencies.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership, bolstering evidence-based decision-making crucial for our multi-billion-dollar asset base.
4. Domain-Driven Collaboration & Thought Leadership:
- Serve as the bridge between technological innovation and business strategy, championing a culture of innovation and relentless improvement within our organization.
- Mentor junior colleagues, sharing expertise in both Private Equity/Alternative Investment Management and the practical application of AI.
Qualifications:
Education: MBA or equivalent advanced degree from a prestigious institution.
Experience: Minimum 7 years in Business Operations, ideally within Private Equity or Alternative Investments, with a proven record of leveraging GenAI technologies, especially in prompt engineering. Direct experience with Generative LLMs in a financial services context is essential.
Industry Domain Knowledge: Deep familiarity with PE/AIM terminology, investment processes, and market dynamics; experience with LP relations, fundraising, and co-investment strategies is highly advantageous.
Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of AI/ML concepts, proficient in Generative LLM-powered applications, mastery of Agentic workflow techniques, adeptness with data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL), and familiarity with cloud platform Azure preferred.
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities; thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments; demonstrated leadership and the capacity to influence cross-functional teams.
