Instructional Designer

Hybrid Cleveland, OH (On-site 3x a week, Wednesday required)

6 month contract to hire



Overview

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Instructional Designer to join their growing Data Literacy & AI Enablement team. This role is key to helping our organization build a strong foundation in data literacy, empowering associates across the business to confidently use data and AI in their day-to-day work.


You ll work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional leads, and cross-functional partners to design engaging, effective learning experiences that support our digital transformation journey. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for empowering others with data skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality learning content for data literacy, including video tutorials, interactive modules, and written guides.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to understand learning objectives and align content with business goals.
  • Utilize tools such as Articulate Rise, Vyond (preferred), and Oracle Learning Cloud to build and manage learning experiences.
  • Tailor content to various learner personas and competency levels, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
  • Build and enhance on-demand content to support just-in-time learning needs.
  • Conduct needs analysis and participate in the design and development of training modules.
  • Storyboard, author, and produce e-learning and blended learning solutions.
  • Provide production/editing services for audio, video, and multimedia assets.
  • Develop course-specific job aids and performance support materials.
  • Offer consultative feedback to stakeholders and continuously improve learning outputs.
  • Stay current with trends in instructional design, data literacy, and digital learning.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in instructional design, ideally in both corporate and educational settings.
  • Strong IT background with experience in data analysis, visualization, and digital tools.
  • Proficiency in Articulate Rise (required); Vyond or similar tools is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Oracle Learning Cloud or similar LMS platforms.
  • Confident communicator and proactive collaborator, especially with SMEs.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Familiarity with competency frameworks and adult learning principles.
  • A growth mindset and passion for helping others learn and adapt in a data-driven world.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Certification in instructional design, data visualization, or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing learning content in a corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theory.
