Functional Job Title: Intelligent Transportation Systems Integration Manager

Work Location: 2 Broadway

This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for design, development, and implementation of systems for programs in ITS $60M Capital Program utilizing advanced intelligent transportation systems and associated information technology from project initiation to completion to provide MTA Bridges&Tunnels with economical, safe, and efficient operations. This position is responsible for managing efforts to research and test various ITS and Operations technologies, specify the technical requirements for ITS and Operations systems in coordination with C&D and MTAIT, and initiate, develop, and complete Request for Proposals (RFPs), including statements of work, budgets, requisitions for procurement of ITS and Operations systems. Responsible for completing projects on schedule and within the budget. Provide 24x7 technical support during project implementation of mission critical systems. Coordinate closely with other B&T departments, C&D and MTAIT to assure that B&T and MTA goals are met. Coordinate with TRANSCOM, NYC DOT, NYS DOT, and other regional agencies for traffic management systems.

Bridges&Tunnels ITS projects include agency wide Advance Traffic Management Platform, Systems for B&T Operations Command Center and facility Traffic Management Centers, Traffic Signal Control, Queue Warning and Active Transportation Demand Management, Work Zone Management, Traveler Information, Video Displays and Video Walls, Incident Detection, Traffic Cameras, Over Height Vehicle Detection, Smart Lighting, field network equipment, facility Traffic/Operations Network infrastructure etc. B&T Operations projects include integrated Infrastructure SCADA systems for Power Monitoring, Lighting, Drainage Pump, Heat Trace, and Fire Pump.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field

Five (5) years of experience in design, implementation and integration of complex Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Operations Systems projects.

Valid driver's license and able to perform field work supervision at B&T facilities and roadway.

Proficient with MS Office Suite.

Solid understanding of the concepts of system design, integration, hardware, software and communication requirements. Current working knowledge on system architecture, network, VMS, CCTV, PLC and SCADA systems.

Strong communications and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with multiple departments.

Excellent analytical decision making skills.

Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Ability to deal effectively with all levels of personnel.

Ability to assess B&T needs and develop plans to meet them.

Good working knowledge of diversified technical systems, principles and technologies, including computers, digital communication, electronics, Network Architecture, PLC, SCADA systems, sensors, VMS and CCTV.

Ability to respond to any authority location on a 24/7 basis when required.
