We are seeking an experienced and talented ITS Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for our clients.

What You'll Be Doing:

As an experienced ITS Engineer, you will:
  • Plan, Design, and Implement ITS Solutions: Lead the development of ITS systems, including Advanced Transportation Management Systems (ATMS), tolling systems, traffic signal systems, ramp metering, and roadway monitoring systems.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct stakeholder workshops, requirements reviews, and design discussions to ensure alignment with client needs and project goals.
  • Documentation and Testing: Prepare system designs, specifications, concepts of operations, test procedures, and user manuals. Oversee system testing and deployment to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities by seeking grant funding, leading grant applications, and supporting proposal development to secure new projects for Parsons.
  • Project Management: Manage ITS projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Engineering Deliverables: Create drawings, specifications, and other materials for procurement and construction purposes. Utilize CAD tools as needed.
  • Traffic and Transportation Analysis: Perform traffic and transportation analyses, develop solutions, and coordinate with technology specialists to implement those solutions.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and Engineers working on the same project.
  • Supplier Coordination: Review supplier drawing submittals and assist in performing technical bid analyses.

What You'll Bring:

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
    • 6+ years of experience with a Master's degree.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of transportation engineering principles and practices.
    • Proficiency in Traffic analysis and ITS design.
    • Experience with tools such as VISSIM, MicroStation, Highway Capacity Software, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate transportation and traffic issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, recommendations, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with national technical committees and volunteer organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, stakeholders, and team members effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $86,700.00 - $151,700.00
