Title and Summary
Intern, Platform Engineering
This role is not eligible for Mastercard's work authorization sponsorship. About the Team
The Global Network Engineering (GNE) team is a mission-critical function within Mastercard's Platform Engineering organization. We design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance network infrastructure across data centers, corporate offices, and customer environments worldwide.
Our team is composed of highly skilled engineers who specialize in:
- Routing and switching
- Firewall and security architecture
- SD-WAN and cloud connectivity
- Network automation and observability
- M&A integration and global expansion
Internship Program
Mastercard's summer internship program provides emerging talent with projects that will enhance skills as well as contribute to the department's goals and objectives. In this program, you will participate in:
- Networking events, mentorship opportunities, and hear from senior leaders
- Volunteer and team building opportunities
- Formal performance assessments
- End-of-summer presentations to peers and Mastercard leadership
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in Computer Science or a related field with a graduation date of Winter 2026 - Summer 2027
- Have a strong focus and interest in technology (Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or another related field)
- Hands-on experience with networking routing and switching
- Exposure to security and/or firewalls, ideal experience with Smart console or Panorama is a plus
- Automation experience with ansible, network automation, and/or python
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication skills, ability and willingness to tackle complex problems
Salary: $25-32/hr
