Position: Senior Java Developer (API & Automation)
Job Location: Saint Paul, MN (Hybrid)
Duration: Full-time
Overview:
- One of our clients seeking a Java Engineer to join our technology team.
- This role will focus on designing and developing APIs, automating development and operational tasks, and supporting the modernization of state systems.
- The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Java/Spring frameworks, DevOps practices, and cloud technologies (AWS) to help us enhance service delivery and efficiency for Minnesota residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain APIs and backend services using Java/Spring Boot.
- Automate repetitive development and operational workflows to improve system efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Contribute to DevOps pipelines (CI/CD) and infrastructure automation.
- Develop solutions leveraging AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFormation).
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing applications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, or related frameworks).
- Proven expertise in API development and integration.
- Practical knowledge of automation, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Experience with AWS cloud services (or another major cloud platform).
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, and version control.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with onsite and remote teams.
