Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with product management and cross-functional teams to define product requirements, priorities, and timelines.
- Drive the execution of engineering projects from concept to delivery, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, helping to solve complex technical challenges and make sound architectural decisions.
- Collaborate with other departments, including research, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment and seamless integration of engineering efforts.
- Establish and maintain engineering processes, best practices, and standards to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DNA sequencing and biotech to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong technical background in software development, with expertise in one or more programming languages (JavaScript, Node).
- Experience working in biotech, life sciences, or related industries, with knowledge of DNA sequencing technologies and workflows.
- Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing engineering teams, delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
