Role Summary:

The Junior Network Engineer position is responsible for providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for users and IT business partners, troubleshooting network issues within the corporate environment. This role involves frontline support for the user community and escalation to higher-level support teams as necessary. The individual will provide support and expertise on network issues and may interact with senior leadership. This role requires 5 days on site per week located in Time Square, New York City, or Hingham, Massachusetts.

Pay rate: $35-$45/hr

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot network problems and outages related to end-users and the campus environment.
  • Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 support for local and remote users, including wireless and wired connectivity for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and conference rooms.
  • Prioritize support for executive-level users as needed.
  • Support routine network maintenance, such as OS upgrades and MDF/IDF cable cleanup.
  • Install, configure, and support network assets, including routers, switches, and access points.
  • Assist with building/facilities maintenance that requires powering down network systems.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to recommend, implement, and maintain enterprise network best practices and processes to enhance the user experience.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for network support, VLANs, MDF/IDF switches, and Meraki Access Points.
  • Manage network support tickets, prioritizing critical issues accordingly.


Experience Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate certification or higher.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
  • Basic understanding of VPN technology, IPSEC, and SSL.
  • Proficiency with Cisco command line interface (CLI).
  • Familiarity with configuring Cisco Catalyst Switches, trunking, VLANs, and switch ports.
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 Suite, including Outlook and Teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex situations and recommend technical solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with ticketing systems like Ivanti, ServiceNow, etc.
  • Retail IT experience is a plus.
