About the Role
As a Junior SAP BASIS Administrator, you will join a team of experienced professionals supporting a variety of enterprise customers. You ll assist in the day-to-day technical administration of SAP environments, learning to manage system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement changes under the guidance of senior team members. This is a great opportunity to grow your technical expertise in SAP while gaining hands-on experience in system administration, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise IT environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist in SAP system monitoring, performance checks, and daily operational tasks
- Help with SAP installations, updates, backups, and migrations
- Learn and contribute to security configurations, user management, and audit processes
- Support incident resolution and escalate complex issues to senior team members
- Perform database backups and assist with OS-level administration
- Help configure transport routes, printers, and background jobs
- Document standard operating procedures and participate in team knowledge sharing
Project/Change Management
- Participate in regular system refreshes and SAP kernel upgrades
- Assist with system copies, support package applications, and technical cleanups
- Shadow experienced team members on upgrade and implementation projects
- Learn project documentation and change management best practices
Communication/Presence
- Support customer operations by responding to requests in a clear and timely manner
- Participate in regular status meetings and help prepare customer reports
- Learn how to communicate system updates, incidents, and maintenance activities
- Understand and track customer-specific procedures and service level expectations
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- 1 3 years of hands-on experience with SAP systems (internships or junior roles welcome) is a plus
- Basic understanding of Linux and/or Windows server environments
- Exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus
- Knowledge of relational databases (SAP HANA, Oracle, etc.) is a plus
- Strong interest in developing a career in SAP system administration
