Position Summary: Caremark LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Irving, TX: Lead Director, Data Engineering to plan, direct, and coordinate activities for data engineering teams. Duties include: direct daily data engineering operations across the enterprise, analyze workflow, establish priorities, and develop and execute strategic engineering roadmaps; apply analytical rigor and advanced statistical methods to the analysis of large amounts of data from pharmacy benefits management, specialty, retail, and/or healthcare businesses; lead a team of Data Engineers and Data Scientists designing and delivering analytics projects and experiments that inform solutions for in-house teams (i.e., pharmacy pricing, medical costs, risk scores, onboarding) and customer engagement across critical journeys (i.e., calories, heart rate, breast cancer, maternity); manage large data-driven information technology projects incorporating data exploration, model building, performance evaluation, and testing in order to evaluate scenarios, predict outcomes, and provide usable information on health metrics and future outcomes; identify business needs that can be addressed with advanced analytics and translate analytics into business value; present analytics results and compelling business insights to executives; review project plans and coordinate project activity; and mentor and assign and review the work of Data Engineers and junior team members. Requirements: Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires four (4) years of experience in each of the following:
Analyzing large data sets from multiple data sources;
Data analysis for retail and/or healthcare industries;
Programming in Java, Python, or R;
SAS or SQL programming languages;
Databases: Oracle, Teradata, or DB2;
Spark, PySpark, or Scala;
Hadoop architecture or HDFS commands;
Hadoop and Hive;
Domain support for healthcare or retail organization;
Software testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting;
Writing Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes;
Designing data models and solutions for analytical and reporting use cases;
Big Data implementation.
Managing consulting engagements including requirements gathering, data requests and reports, progress updates, issue resolution, and documenting analytics findings;
Creating functional project plans, developing new operating models, giving executive presentations, establishing working teams with functional leads across the enterprise, and
developing integration business plans, budgeting, financial baseline comparison, and plans to capture synergy value;
Leadership of business analyses and initiatives;
MS Excel, including writing advanced Excel formulas and using conditional, vlookups/hlookups, sorting and filtering, array formulas, and VBA macros, pivot reporting, and conditional
formatting;
Leadership of cross-functional projects; Developing high-impact presentations for senior-level leaders; Communicating technical concepts and implications to business partners;
Presenting quantitative reports and analysis to executive-level audiences; and
Translating high-level business goals to technical and process requirements.

Pay Range: $180461.00/year to $230000.00/year.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
