Role: Lead Product Manager Mobile App Development Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid)

Overview: One of the largest transit agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area, is seeking a Lead Product Manager to drive the strategic direction and rollout of its mobile applications and related digital products. The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing mobile app development projects, from concept to launch, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance rider experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, launch, and ongoing enhancement of the agency's mobile applications on iOS and Android.
  • Develop and maintain a mobile product roadmap in collaboration with agency leads to drive post-pandemic ridership growth and improve user engagement.
  • Own strategic direction for mobile app and web features, including A/B testing frameworks to optimize functionality.
  • Lead pilots and integrations, such as AI ChatBot for self-service support and Clipper SDK for large-scale Bay Area transit integration.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors (e.g., Swiftly Inc.) to improve real-time information accuracy and application performance.
  • Analyze user feedback, app analytics, and industry trends to inform product improvements and strategic decisions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and manage stakeholder communication throughout product lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on mobile app development.
  • Proven experience launching mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms.
  • Strong understanding of mobile app development lifecycle, product roadmaps, and feature prioritization.
  • Experience with A/B testing, analytics tools, and integration with third-party services.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Local to Oakland, CA and available for hybrid work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in transit, transportation, or public-sector mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with AI/ChatBot integration, SDK development, and real-time data systems.
  • Agile/Scrum experience and strong stakeholder management skills.
