Job Details

Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Level 4 Data Center Technicians to join our IT team. This role is responsible for advanced break-fix support across GPUs, servers, networking equipment, and cabling infrastructure, as well as managing ITSM tickets and leading deployment projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hyperscale environments, particularly with landing fully populated GPU and network racks, and a deep understanding of copper and fiber cabling technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties:
  • Perform all tasks associated with Level 1, 2, and 3 Technicians as needed.
  • Lead break-fix efforts for GPUs, servers, network devices, and cabling infrastructure.
  • Manage and resolve tickets using ITSM tools.
  • Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and replace faulty components in GPU systems.

Rack & Infrastructure Deployment:
  • Land fully populated GPU or network racks, including:
    • Rack movement, baying, leveling, and grounding.
    • Hot-air containment setup.
    • Overhead cable tray installation and management.
  • Interpret and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure all required materials are present.
  • Install, test, label, and document copper and fiber infrastructure.
  • Handle and install optical modules (SFPs, QSFPs).
  • Scope and clean fiber connectors (SC, LC, MPO).
  • Rack and stack equipment within existing infrastructure.
  • Patch and route fiber and copper cables with precision.

Leadership & Communication:
  • Lead and manage technical teams during deployments and troubleshooting.
  • Provide daily updates and documentation using customer tracking tools, Microsoft Office, and digital photography.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and data center standards.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Work with DC power systems and equipment.
  • Travel as required to support remote data center operations.
  • Operate within Microsoft data center environments.
  • Apply knowledge of telecom engineering designs for enterprise-level data centers.

Qualifications

Required:
  • 7+ years of experience in data center deployment and break-fix operations.
  • Proven expertise in landing fully populated GPU/network racks.
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet cabling technologies:
    • Copper and fiber (SM, MM, MPO)
    • Routing, dressing, and connector types
  • Experience with optical modules (SFP, QSFP) and fiber cleaning techniques.
  • Proficiency in racking, stacking, and patching equipment.
  • Experience working with DC power systems.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft data center environments.
  • Understanding of telecom engineering designs for enterprise data centers.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Certifications & Skills:
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT (or equivalent)
  • CCNA and MCP/MSCE (preferred)
  • Technical Skills: Windows OS experience
  • Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
  • ITIL Framework familiarity (ITSM, Change Management, Problem Management)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
