Linux Engineer

Job Title: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Engineer
Job Location : Berkeley Heights, NJ - Onsite 2-3 days a week
Duration : 1+ Year

Overview :
We are looking for a resource for 2000 hours that matches the following criteria:
Can be on-site in Berkley Heights, New Jersey 2-3 times per week with the following skillset:
RHEL 10 Deployment Strategy

• Design and implement scalable deployment models using traditional and image-based approaches.
• Utilize Anaconda and bootc-image-builder for automated provisioning.
• Integrate deployment workflows with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices.

Patching & Automation Strategy

• Architect patching workflows using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platformand Red Hat Satellite.
• Implement centralized inventory and job templates for scheduled patching across hybrid environments.
• Ensure compliance with security standards (FIPS, STIG, PCI-DSS) through automated remediation.

Image Mode Strategy

• Define strategy for adopting RHEL Image Modeusing bootc and container-native workflows.
• Build and manage immutable system images with declarative configuration via Containerfiles.
• Enable fast rollbacks, compliance at build time, and deployment across cloud, edge, and bare metal environments.

Training & Enablement

• Develop and deliver training modules highlighting differences between RHEL 10 and previous versions (RHEL 8/9).
• Educate teams on new features like Flatpak, Lightspeed CLI assistant, and post-quantum encryption.

Upgrade Strategy (RHEL 8/9 RHEL 10) Desired Skill set

• Lead in-place upgrades using Leapp utility with pre-upgrade simulations and remediation.
• Ensure compatibility and rollback mechanisms across diverse environments.
• Develop upgrade playbooks and automation scripts for fleet-wide transitions.
