Description

The role is to support the Progress manufacturing execution system (MES) used by our client.
The main responsibilities include:

• Basic understanding of networking, IPs, VPNs
• Ability to write simple queries to extract data, optimize processes, and troubleshoot issues
• Willingness to be on-site, initially for a week to understand the processes, and then 3-4 days per week going forward
• Potential need to visit manufacturing facilities to provide support
• The role requires experience with Progress OpenEdge software, which is used for barcode printing, data intake, and integration with other systems.

Preferred skills:

• MES ability
• Progress exposure
• SQL/Windows scripting
• Some networking/VPN knowledge.

The company is open to training a candidate with the right skills, even if they don't have the full 5+ years of Progress OpenEdge experience required.

Work Environment

• The travel requirements for this role include:
• Visiting the manufacturing facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area, which will be the focus for the next 6-8 weeks.
• Potentially visiting other manufacturing plants across the US, including locations in Tennessee, Muskogee, El Paso, and near New York in Gettysburg.
• The immediate need is for the two plants in the DFW area, with the candidate expected to be on-site initially for a week to understand the processes, and then 3-4 days per week going forward.
