MS Teams Room Conferencing Engineer
Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL (Remote 1 day wk)
6 month contract to perm must be able to work in the US on W2 for any employer not open to 3rd party submissions
$45-55/hr W2 only no C2C available
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Microsoft Teams Room Conferencing Engineer to support the monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise conferencing environments. This role ensures seamless collaboration experiences across our global footprint of Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTRs). The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in MTR systems, automation, and remote management, serving as a Tier 3 escalation point and contributing to continuous improvement through process development and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring & Maintenance
Oversee health and performance of all Microsoft Teams Room systems.
Implement proactive monitoring solutions and alerting mechanisms.
Monitor Microsoft Teams Rooms via the Microsoft Pro Portal and dispatch tickets to field analysts when remote troubleshooting is unsuccessful.
Identify key trends in support cases and recommend automation or process improvements to reduce recurring issues.
Ensure timely patching, firmware updates, and system upgrades.
Process & Documentation
Develop and maintain SOPs for room setup, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
Create and manage technical documentation for support teams and stakeholders.
Standardize procedures for incident response and root cause analysis
. Escalation & Support
Act as Tier 3 escalation point for field technicians and support teams.
Provide expert-level troubleshooting and remote resolution of complex issues.
Collaborate with Microsoft support and vendors as needed.
Automation & Tooling
Design and implement automation scripts and remote actions to streamline operations.
Integrate monitoring and reporting tools with existing IT infrastructure.
Platform Expertise
Maintain deep understanding of Microsoft Teams Rooms architecture and capabilities.
Manage devices and licenses via Microsoft Teams Admin Center and Microsoft Pro Portal.
Stay current with Microsoft roadmap and feature releases.
Hardware Strategy
Evaluate and recommend new conferencing hardware (cameras, audio devices, compute units).
Define standards for room configurations based on use cases and scale.
Partner with vendors and procurement teams for hardware selection and deployment
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in AV/UC engineering, with a focus on Microsoft Teams Rooms.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Admin Center and Pro Portal.
Understanding of Microsoft licensing models related to Teams Rooms.
Familiarity with AV hardware (Logitech, Poly, Crestron, etc.) and room design principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Strong communication and documentation skills._
Nice to Have:
Located near a major office or deployment hub.
Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
Experience with MTR deployment via Intune and Autopilot.
Hands-on troubleshooting experience in enterprise environments.
The compensation range for this position is $45 to $55/hr W2 only
(dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
