Job Details
IT Mac Administrator
The IT Mac Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring the functionality, performance, and user experience of all Apple devices and software solutions within the company. This individual will collaborate with global teams and end users to deploy, configure, maintain, and support Apple products primarily Mac computers and other Apple endpoints. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, flexible, accountable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall IT strategy by delivering best-in-class services and support to internal customers.
- Configure, secure, deploy, and monitor the performance of all Apple hardware and software used by end users, both remote and on-site.
- Manage patching and firmware updates for Apple devices, ensuring timely distribution to maintain security, stability, and compatibility.
- Administer Apple operating system installations and application packages through MDM solutions (e.g., JAMF), enforcing security standards, device compliance, and data protection.
- Provide Tier 2 support for Mac OS and Apple endpoint issues unresolved by Tier 1 support.
- Develop training materials and documentation to educate end users on Apple devices, features, and applications.
- Partner with global IT teams including administrators, systems engineers, and software developers to ensure seamless integration of Apple products.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new Apple technologies, features, and releases for organizational adoption.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes and help manage IT request SLAs through the ticketing system.
- Track issues and resolutions in the ticketing system, providing feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with vendors as needed to maintain infrastructure and resolve issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Apple certification (Apple Certified Support Professional or Apple Certified Mac Technician).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Apple products, including macOS, iOS, and associated software.
- Experience with MDM solutions such as JAMF or Intune.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP), security best practices, and device management solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
