Job Title : Mainframe Developers
Contract: 6 month+
Location: Austin, TX- Mandatory (Hybrid-3 days onsite)
Interview Process: 2 rounds (1st Virtual and 2nd F2F with End Client)
Experience: 7+ years

Rate: $58/hr on C2C

PROJECT DETAILS
Initiative began with analysis of legacy and distributed applications.
Major effort: Mainframe remediation, moving from 8 bytes - 9 bytes.
o No plans to expand beyond 9 due to ongoing firmwide mainframe migration.
Mainframe team owns Mutual Fund backend processes, heavily reliant on account numbers.

Work required:
o Identify changes and retire unnecessary processes.
o Create missing functionality as needed.
o Remediate and test all mainframe changes.
o Testing Phases:
1. Unit testing by developers
2. QA integration testing
3. Enterprise-wide integrated testing
Dependencies: Already identified and documented.
Developer role: Remediation + testing + QA support.
QA role: Execute tests (requirements from other teams as well).
Knowledge: Industry expertise not required (applications are custom built).

Primary Skills:
Cobol (must-have), DB2, JCL, MVS, ChangeMan (good to have)
Responsibilities:
Perform code changes to Cobol programs, Copybooks, JCL, DB2 Stored Procedures
Unit test changes/additions
Assist QA with integration & regression testing
Attend Scrum ceremonies (including daily standups)
Work with external vendors for dependency testing/validation
Use JIRA and Confluence for task management & documentation
