Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Energy and Sustainability the Manager, Energy Engineering is responsible for advancing energy management efforts on campus and for the implementation of supply side and demand side programs and initiatives. Working closely with the facility management, technical services and construction management groups, identify, evaluate and support the deployment of cost-effective energy management initiatives to drive environmental improvement, energy reduction and operational excellence across the NYU portfolio of properties.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or Facility Engineering, or a related degree from an accredited college or university along with experience in energy management in an institutional setting (i.e. - facilities management and/or operations).
Preferred Education:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field. Professional certification or accreditation is desirable such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Business Energy Professional (CBEP), Professional Engineer (PE) or LEED Accredited Professional (AP).
Required Experience:
Five years of experience in facility operation, maintenance and engineering. In-depth knowledge of building mechanical and lighting systems and controls. BMS and instrumentation experience. Commissioning and retro-commissioning experience. Engineering calculations regarding energy and control projects.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with facility and energy engineering projects. Expertise with building mechanical and lighting systems, building management systems, instrumentation and control strategies, logic and best practices in maintenance and operation of these systems.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Five-to-seven years of knowledge in the energy and/or building systems. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, good interpersonal skills. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Ability to multitask with strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $121,500.00 to USD $141,500.00 New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
