The Opportunity
This role is responsible for leading purchasing and supply management activities for Dairy Products and related subcategories, including all milk fractionation. As a strategic leader within Abbott's global procurement organization, you will drive the "One Abbott Procurement" vision across divisions, fostering synergies and delivering cost-effective solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement impactful sourcing strategies, optimize supply chains, and represent Abbott's interests in the industry.

What You'll Work On

  • Lead procurement strategy for Dairy Products and subcategories globally
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial functions
  • Develop and implement cost reduction strategies and total cost of ownership (TCO) models
  • Manage supplier relationships and lead supplier selection for new product development
  • Drive process improvements and identify new business opportunities
  • Coordinate across divisions to share best practices and ensure compliance with procurement guidelines
  • Lead global category projects and initiatives, including multimodal logistics and warehousing strategies
  • Present procurement strategies and results to senior leadership
  • Mentor and lead virtual and direct teams (up to 20 people)
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in Dairy Category procurement
  • Functional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships across cultures and functions
  • International experience and global stakeholder management
  • Deep knowledge of Dairy and Nutritional Ingredients markets
  • Experience with supplier management and contract negotiation
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to develop implementation plans


Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or PMP
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data governance tools
  • Knowledge of Dairy Category technologies and products
  • Experience leading cross-functional and virtual teams
  • Strong negotiation and strategic sourcing skills
  • Familiarity with risk management strategies (e.g., hedging)
  • Experience presenting to senior executives and driving enterprise-wide initiatives


The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 - $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
