Job Description Our client, a leader in the public transportation industry, is seeking a Manager of Performance Data and Technology. This full-time position is based in Boston, MA and focuses on managing automated data systems, tracking and improving operational performance, and overseeing the implementation of an Open Data Strategy for internal and public use.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of public service, transportation innovation, and advanced analytics. The Manager will lead data integration efforts, oversee quality control processes, manage technical projects, and direct a team of analysts and interns. The role involves close collaboration across multiple departments, contributing to both long-term strategic projects and rapid-response data initiatives that support critical
operational goals.

This is a full-time hybrid position. Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil/Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience per substitutions)
  • 5+ years of experience managing data-related projects
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in advanced data systems and architecture
  • Experience integrating multiple disparate data sources
  • Background in database architecture and working knowledge of transportation/transit data sets and structures
  • Advanced SQL skills for database manipulation
  • Advanced expertise in R, Python, or other scientific computing languages
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
  • Demonstrated interest in public transportation or public sector service delivery
