Location: Waterloo, IA
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing engineering activities for projects or processes within the enterprise product delivery or order fulfillment process. You will work in a team environment to improve manufacturing systems, ensure quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves hands-on work in a factory setting and requires strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer, OFP
Location: Waterloo, IA
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing engineering activities for projects or processes within the enterprise product delivery or order fulfillment process. You will work in a team environment to improve manufacturing systems, ensure quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves hands-on work in a factory setting and requires strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities
- Support analysis and specification of methods, process steps, and equipment for manufacturing and materials processes.
- Contribute to feasibility testing and provide feedback to validate engineering designs.
- Assist in drafting engineering standards and evaluating their effectiveness.
- Perform inspections under supervision to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations; recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate activities of subcontractors and suppliers; serve as primary point of contact within contract management plans.
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements using established change management programs.
- Support knowledge-sharing initiatives and advise team members on best practices.
- Participate in product development activities, analyze customer needs, and deliver solutions using established systems.
- Work within project management plans to achieve defined goals.
- Engage in professional development through training, coaching, and maintaining relevant certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology or Engineering (or equivalent).
- Ability to work onsite in a factory environment and travel between facilities as needed.
- Comfortable spending ~70% of time on feet and operating factory vehicles
Preferred Qualifications
- entry level candidates with manufacturing internships are welcome.
- Experience in:
- Software programming
- Hands-on manufacturing environments
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
