We designs and manufactures high-performance connectors and sensors that thrive in harsh environments-from deep-sea oil rigs to outer space, and everything in between. Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Fiber Optics to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring quality control, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a strong understanding of optical design and the ability to apply engineering principles to enhance product efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes for fiber optic products
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control measures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and improve optical systems
- Utilize CAD software to create and modify engineering designs
- Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for manufacturing issues
- Manage projects from conception through testing and validation phases
- Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing staff
- Monitor production metrics and identify areas for optimization
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to manufacturing processes and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in fiber optics
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control
- Experience with optical design and testing methodologies
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma practices
- Proficiency in CAD software for engineering design
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong project management abilities
- Understanding of compliance standards in manufacturing
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
